A Rainbow of Color
For those of us who grew up in the 80's, you might very well remember loving one of these two things: Rainbows and Unicorns. I was cleaning out some old boxes that I had stuffed into the very back of my shed many years ago, and found a long lost note that I received via note-passing from a friend in the fifth grade. It was a picture of a unicorn with a rainbow behind it on college-ruled paper, and it was eloquently captioned "Rainbows and Unicorns Rule." There were big puffy circles in lieu of dots over the i's. Ahhh...the glory days of my not-so-misspent 80's youth.
The note jogged me into noticing that I've been seeing rainbow colors and bright color palettes taking their cute from the 80's when shopping online. I'm happy to report that retro rainbow gear is making a comeback. In the The Devil Wears Etsy group on Flickr, you'll find tons of rainbow colored fashions and accessories--and they've arrived not a minute too early for Spring.

And, baby, in my world, unicorns resurfaced so many years ago. (But they can stay untrendy, I'd be happy with that.)

Being an 80's girl myself I also love the rainbows! (Not so much the unicorns, though if we keep talking about it they may come back too!)
In fact I am making a pair of rainbow earrings this very minute for my 12 yr old daughter to give to a friend for her birthday.
It is nice to see such a happy color combination make a comeback. Maybe I should pull out my rainbow embroidery and mirror covered jean jacket from high school... it could be all the rage! :-)
