Who Sparkled This Saturday?

Adeline's Loft

Today on Saturday Sparkle, I'm bringing you some beautiful Lily earrings from an indie jewelry designer in Singapore named Adeline who runs an online shop called Adeline's Loft.

Today's featured jewelry had an elegant simplicity, and I just love the delicate sparkle on this pretty pair.
They were created with
beautiful cultured freshwater rice pearls and light amethyst Swarovski crystals that have been handwired onto oval drop. 925 silver earwires.

I had a chance to interview Adeline for today's Saturday Sparkle column, and here is what she shared with us:

Adeline, how did you get your start in jewelry design?

It was by chance that I got into jewelry making! I had decided to do something different for a bonding session with my best friend so we signed up for a 2 hour jewelry making workshop. That was back in the year 2005 and I haven't stopped nurturing my creative side since.

What inspired you to turn your hobby into a business?

Actually, I would like to think it as a hobby more than a "business". After many many months of searching for my true identity, I found that it is appropriate for me to set up a website where others can "chill out" and share my passion. Keeping it as a hobby warms my heart. So far, this is working out better for me.

You have a great eye for color and design...in your own words, would you describe where you got this gift?

I once had a conversation with a buyer who commented that necklaces shouldn't be so symmetrical all the time and each creation deserves their own personality. That was the turning point in my creations and I began to explore colors and bead shapes to make that creation unique. Which is also why I picked up making polymer clay beads so that I am able to incorporate them into my jewelries.

If you had any advice for a newbie to jewelry making, what would it be?

Be passionate driven in what you do and persevere!

Who has provided you with the most support for your jewelry business?

I have to say that the most important person that made a difference in my creative journey is my husband. Without his support, I will not be where I am today. Of course, I should also not forget my friends, family and buyers for believing in me.

Thanks so much Adeline for sharing your jewelry and story with us! And readers, be sure to visit Adeline at her shop: Adeline's Loft

Happy Saturday and keep sparkling!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
