Friday Findings: Out of this World Jewelry

>> Friday, June 20, 2008

After taking a few weeks off for vacation, I've been feeling a little spacey and out-of-this world as I try to get back into my regular daily routine, so I thought that showing you some space-inspired jewelry might be a fun change of pace for everyone. I had a lot of fun searching around for space-themed jewelry, and can't wait to show you these fun pieces from a talented group of independent jewelry artists at the online marketplace, Etsy.

Out of this World Silver Space Pendant

Houston, we have lift off! I felt like an astronaut when I spotted this Out of This World Silver Space Pendant from Mithrill Dreams. It features a cute antiqued silver orbiting planet pendant that measures 1 1/2 inches across and hangs from a 17 inch silver plated that closes with a round toggle clasp. Available from Mithrill Dreams in Houston, TX.

Orbit Girl Earrings

I love the fresh and sassy style of Mark Poulin's Orbit Girl Earrings. These darling space dolls are crafted from sterling silver and enamel. Check out the rest of Mark Poulin's Orbit Girl jewelry line, these pieces are really whimsical and fun! Available from Mark Poulin Jewelry in Oakland, CA.

This Orbital Necklace is an interplanetary delight! A thick ring of gorgeous copper makes its orbit around a simple blue glass bead. The ring and bead measures 1 inch in diameter and hang from a 19 inch, antiqued brass chain. The necklace closes with an antiqued brass lobster clasp. It's also available in other out of this world colors by submitting a custom request. Available from Idyll Hands in Fayetteville, AR.

The universe has never been so elegant with this celestial- inspired piece hand formed from sterling silver, brass, and copper. It measures about 1 3/4" from top to bottom and comes on a 17" double-strand coated steel cable neck chain with a simple sterling silver claw closure with a silver star accent.
