Uh Oh! I've Been Tagged to Share Seven Weird and Random Facts

I started blogging back in September 2007, and since that time I've made a lot of new friends through the Internet. One of my newest and most inspiring friends, Debba Haupert, runs a fantastic website and blog called Girlfriendology.com. Her site is a place where women from all over the world can visit for to share stories of inspiration, appreciation, and celebration of friends. She also writes a crafty blog for creative types, called Girlfriendology Too. Debba let me know this morning that I had been "tagged" to share seven weird and random facts about myself. Uh oh. Weird Stuff. I'm pretty good at that :-)

March is National Craft Month, and Debba has been interviewing inspiring and creative women for her weekly series of Girlfriendology podcasts. She's got an impressive lineup and I'm completely flattered (and still in shock!) that she invited me to be a part of it. Much to my delight, Debba recently interviewed none other than The Impatient Blogger and Bead Queen of The Universe herself, Margot Potter. She's also interviewed the founder of National Mom's Night Out, Rachael Hamman. My interview with Debba will be aired on Girlfriendology's Podcast Site later this month (on March 23rd).

So done with my bragging and back to my tagging...

Here are my top seven weird and random facts about myself:

1. In my early twenties, I was big into hip hop. My proudest moment was dancing with three out of four Baldwin brothers on the top of a silver convertible Ford Mustang on MTV Spring Break. I can now say that I was a "famous" MTV grind dancer - LOL.

2. One of my favorite weird food cravings is peanut butter and pepperoni sandwiches. Yes, I'm quite aware that the combination sounds gross.

3. When traveling in Madagascar, the thing I missed most about the United States was the availability of ketchup. After that experience, I always take ketchup packets on trips with me. Anticipation.

4. My father taught me to read the dictionary at five years old. We would mix big words together and have contests for who could create the most eloquent put down. My most effective put down at five years of age was devious fiend. My flair for sassy-ness absolutely comes from Dad.

5. I was adopted a few weeks after birth. Although my birth mother and adoptive mother never knew each other, I did discover years later that they attended the same high school in a different state. It's a small, cool world.

6. I'm a closet musician. I play Piano and Flute. I also know how to play the Accordion (shhhh!).

7. I've had a vast variety of jobs throughout the years of my life. I've worked as a cashier, baker, runway model, makeup artist, retail store manager, graphic designer, teacher's assistant, and technical writer.

Now that you know seven weird and random facts about me, its time to ask seven other bloggers to participate, and as such I'm tagging these new creative blogger friends:

1. Mikiye Creations. One of my favorite luxury jewelry designers. Her pieces are so incredibly gorgeous, you can seem her beautiful pieces at her shop.
2. Adobe Sol. Another favorite indie jewelry designer, with a distinctive style of her own. Love her Etsy shop too.
3. Kelbelle Designs. Kelly makes beautiful cocktail rings and was a featured artist on my blog not too long ago. I love her ring designs.
4. In the Night Kitchen. A fun blog brought to the blogosphere by Etsy seller Amy Esther Ceramics. A fantastic potter and love visiting her indie shopping site.
5. Kreative Mix. A great blog showcasing sites and other helpful information for "aspiring" small business owners.
6.Autonomous Artisans. A blog journal that ignores mass-made goods in favor of the lovingly hand crafted products made by autonomous artisans of the world.
7. Clear Pink Blog. A brand new Etsy blogger, let's show her blog some support and linky love!

So, blog readers, check out some of my new blog friends. You never know what you might find and learn by visiting one of their sites!

Haha, peanut butter and pepperoni really sounds disgusting!! (although i think my dad used to make something like that, but with pickles, too).

Thanks for the tag - I've been seeing this around and wondering if somebody would eventually send it my way! I'll put it on my list of things to think about for tomorrow...

Thanks for sharing!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
