UFOs Spotted in Capitola?
Here in Capitola, there has been some talk about UFOs. Yes, I live in the town where its been nationally reported that Unidentified Flying Objects were spotted hovering over a telephone post. The whole UFO-thing started back in May 2007, through someone's anonymous Craiglist post. It was investigated, and after some days of small-town talk, authorities and UFO researchers came to the conclusion that the whole thing was just a hoax.

Whew! I started thinking I was living in a town where everyone, including the Emperor and His New Clothes, were going a little crazy. But, an article in the Mercury News put a little clarity to all the rumors.

And speaking of rumors, did anyone hear about...

NASA Sending Two Etsians to Outerspace?

OK, so if your a seller at the online marketplace, Etsy, you've probably also heard some talk about a new deal between Etsy and NASA. Will NASA be sending two fellow Etsians to outer space? Rumors and misunderstanding had indicated Yes earlier this week, but the real deal was revealed a few days ago. The creative project between NASA and Etsy, titled Project "SPACE CRAFT," is an art contest. According to reporters at Silicon Alley and a recently posted article correction on the CNET blog here is what is really going up into space with handmade:

Etsy artists create handmade items based on the NASA logo

The Prize:
The two winning pieces of artwork will travel to Space. The winning Etsy artists must stay here on Earth, and very likely enjoy at least a few minutes of international fame. Imagine the number of item views on that!
