Take Away Tuesday:

The EBTW Stormy Weather Challenge

Last week, I decided to become a member of the EtsyBEAD Street Team. The team is open to both bead artists and jewelry designers who run shops at the online marketplace, Etsy. To help you learn about the goals of the group, the team has put together a well-organized blog site (
http://etsybead.wordpress.com/). You can also learn more about the team by visiting the Team Profile page on Etsy (http://team.etsy.com/profilest/BEADS.shtml)

Another fun thing about the group is that each week, they encourage members to participate in the Etsy Bead of the Week (EBTW) challenge. Each week, team members create new pieces or modify existing ones to fit a particular named theme. Since this was my first week as a member, I learned that this week's theme was "STORMY WEATHER" and that members list a storm-themed jewelry items and offer a special discount on the item between March 23-March 29. So, to take part in the challenge, I whipped up these Dark Wood and Swarovski Crystal earrings titled LATE SUMMER SQUALL. They are now available at my Etsy shop at:

Until next week! Be sure to check back next Tuesday, when I will be featuring a very talented woodworker and Etsy seller. He's someone makes exceptionally interesting designs for the guys in your life!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
