Thursday Thoughts: SIMPLY SILVER
>> Thursday, February 7, 2008
As a new jewelry designer and Etsy seller, I so often get caught up with the challenge of trying to create more complicated designs. And, more often than not, I find that while many designers also do complicated work for print and web showcasing, many of my buyers just want a simple pair of dangly earrings that they can throw on with any outfit. A pair of earrings that you can wear without thinking about whether or not it matches. In my opinion, buyers want something that makes a statement, has a little bling, and are faithfully waiting as needed -- ready to go with everything.
Today's featured Capitola Girl Jewelry design is a pair of earrings that I've called SIMPLY SILVER. I used silver metal bead hoops, chain and an earring hook, and for the first time ever didn't add any bead bling. I'm really happy with clean look they have, as well as the simplicity of this design. My friends love these, and so do I. The response from friends encouraged me to make several pairs, making these my first limited edition design for earrings. Will it be a success? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. To see more photos of my new SIMPLY SILVER earrings, visit my Etsy shop at: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9427430

Those are great! I am often torn between intricate creations and the simple. I've tried to offer both in my shop... so far the simple has stayed on the shelves and the intricate has sold. Ah well, I'm sure it will flip flop just when I quit doing the simple :)
I like 'em! I'm definitely all about the simple designs - don't want to have to think too hard in the morning! (sadly, i can only wear gold, though)
