Make Me Monday:
A Billion and One Beads, BAM! All Over My Clean Floors in One Fell Swoop...

At the start of the work week, I usually post about the beads that were screaming Make Me! over the weekend. Well, this week the beads weren't screaming, they were literally falling at my feet. I felt like a Rockstar!

As beaders, we've probably had a little bead spillage happen to us AT LEAST once in our life. But, at Capitola Girl's house, routine bead spillage is a way of life. I have a really lazy tendency to pull beads for projects, make my designs, and then neglect to get the beads put back promptly into storage. Instead, I sometimes let them pile up in in a deep dish, until that deep dish is nearly overflowing like a cheesy pizza top. Then, I do something about it.

Most of the time, I will take the extra time to go through the dish, sort the beads out, and place them neatly back into their storage boxes. Other times, I'll decide that a more convenient option is to store the unsecured and overflowing bead dish on the top of a rickety stack somewhere. Word of advice for the next time? Make sure your stacks are solid before you try doing that!

Anyway, needless to say that over the weekend, my deep dish of beads fell EVERYWHERE! Spillage galore. Under the table, all over the table, behind the bookcase. Even with a vacuum, I'll be stepping on and sweeping up beads for weeks. But that did make it easy to find something to show you for Make Me! Monday. Wondering what to do with your bead spillage? Make a random multi-strand, and multi-colored necklace.

Happy Monday!

Digg!

...and I thought I WAS THE ONLY ONE to do this!
Yup, I have little piles that stack up...I eventually push them together...and sometimes between a huge mess I manage to get them in a bag.

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
