Jewelry Contests and Challenges

>> Tuesday, February 19, 2008

I've been assembling a list of jewelry-making contests and challenges over the past few days, and wanted to share an update with my blog readers about what I've found. Hopefully, some of my fellow jewelry-makers out there might find the time or interest to check out some of these opportunities to gain exposure for you and your jewelry making business:

Fire Mountain Gems and Beads 2008-2009 contest. Enter your jewelry projects for a chance to win a high-value gift certificate and other prizes. For details, see the Contest Information link. The deadline is April 15, 2008.

The folks at Art Bead Scene host a monthly challenge for makers of art bead jewelry. There is a different themed challenge for art bead jewelry each month. For more information, visit their Flickr group link.

The folks over at Beading Daily are hosting a bead challenge. Click here to read more about how to enter the challenge at Beading Daily. The deadline for entries is March 2, 2008.

I just learned about a Celebrating Beads 2008 challenge this morning. Click here for rules and guidelines for the BSGW Celebrating Beads. The Deadline for submitting photographed entries of artists' jewelry designs must be postmarked by July 25th, 2008, or emailed by midnight EST on August 8th, 2008.

Vote for contest entrants in Stringing Magazine's current "Fun in the Sun" challenge by clicking this link.

Check out the Ring's and Things "Your Designs Rock" 2008 competition. The deadline to enter is March 3, 2008.

Do you have any Tool Tips? The Contenti Company hosts a monthly "Tips and Tricks" contest where you can win a gift certificate for your submitted tips. For details, see their Contest Rules page.

And for fun...

The Land of Odds hosts an annual contest called, The Ugly Necklace. (Deadline to enter is March 15, 2008).

If you decide to enter, have fun and good luck!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
