Raindance Earrings
As I signed on this blustering, flustering day, I noted that this was the 150th blog post I've made since September. Well, let's just say that number puts my beading obsession into perspective. Beading is no longer a hobby, somewhere along the line its apparently become a lifestyle.

I've been experimenting with all kinds of dangly earrings the past few weeks, and I've posted a new pair below. I made them because I was having a major "I have nothing to wear" crisis on New Year's Eve. I must have beaded up 10 new pairs of earrings trying to decide what would go best with my outfit. I'm sure it sounds pretty ridiculous that a jewelry designer would be running around her house complaining that she doesn't have any jewelry to wear, but I do it all the time (even with 200+ pairs!)

I've been using pearl and crystals more than I normally have in the past, so I just put an order in for more and it will be arriving this week. Just in time to entice some of my lady friends at an upcoming home show here in Capitola! Surprisingly, the home show wasn't my idea, it was another crafty friend who has been clearing out her closets like the rest of us (hey, do you think we're getting organized for the New Year or something?). She had the great idea of having a party where we all bring over the clothes we no longer want, see if someone else in the group wants it, and then whatever is left, we'll donate to charity. I'm hoping that we can get in touch with the folks over at the satellite shelter that we collected so many goodies for last month at the Holiday Galsa. That was fun stuff.

Anyway, before I ramble on more. It's raining HARD here today. The electricity has been flickering all morning, threatening to go out. If it keeps up, I'd be inclined to think the bad weather is daring me to take the day off!

TGIF! I'm going beading!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
