This Week's Friday Find: AriDesigns

This week on Friday Findings, I’d like you to meet Arriel Goodwin of AriDesigns. She is an independent jewelry artist based in North Carolina, who specializes in custom, bridal, and vintage reconstruction jewelry. In addition to her numerous jewelry talents, Arriel has also recently added eco-friendly paper-crafted frames and home décor to her creative repertoire. In fact, one of the pieces from her new eco-friendly line is currently being featured in the Artist Spotlight on the Fashion Channel of the Talent Database.

Frequently commissioned to do vintage reconstruction and bridal jewelry, Arriel also creates some fascinating and unique pieces, such as the stunning costume piece on the left, which was commissioned from AriDesigns by a professional belly dancer. The materials used in this intricate costume piece include brass findings, Swarovski crystals and silver chain, accented with both gold and crystal beads. Don’t you think her piece perfectly suits the lyric and lore of the belly dancer?

As the author at the Fab Designers and Cool Things Blog, Arriel's blog offers a wealth of information about emerging and established jewelry artists. She also manages to find the time to make significant contributions to non-profit and animal rescue organizations. She has taken seven (count that – seven!) rescue animals into her home. And, while Arriel promises herself that she's at her rescue intake limit, it sounds as though she may be leaving that up for time to tell. Some of the non-profits and organizations that she dontes and contributes to are the Humane Society, Crafters for Critters, and Crafted for Love (run by a fellow Etsian, Mandy in Singapore).

As Arriel likes to say, “Be Bold. Be Unique. Be You.” And, Capitola Girl likes that, especially in a talented jewelry artist like Arriel. Thank you to AriDesigns for accepting my invitation to be a featured artist on this week's Friday Findings. To learn more about Ari-Designs, visit her at:

Stay tuned tomorrow to see the beautiful designs from another independent artist on tomorrow's first edition of Saturday Sparkle!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
