Friday Findings
I've decided that I want to start a new (and hopefully weekly) column on my blog called Friday Findings, so that I can share the cool things and ideas that I find during my bead blog travels on the Internet. Here's a couple of fun items that I came across while bead surfing today:
Venus Earring's Jewelry Designer Faceoff on Bix
I was uploading some recent earring photos to my Flickr Album this afternoon and discovered a website called Bix. There are a ton of fun contests on the site, like this one for the "Top Jewelry Designer" started by Venus Earrings. I think its a great idea and like to support jewelry designers who take that extra step to turn jewelry making into a challenge. Since I always have fun when entering a competition, I posted some recent earrings creations in the contest this afternoon. You should see some of the other beautiful entries, the other artists have done some amazing work!
Jewelry and Beading's: What's on Your Worktable?
I subscribe to the Jewelry and Beading Blog through Bloglines, and in today's post was a call for pictures of your worktable. I'm really curious to know if people's work areas are as disorganized as mine and to see the great organizational ideas that others might be using to tame the beads. I thought it would be really fun to see what other workareas looked like, so I sent some pictures in to Cyndi over at the Jewelry and Beading Blog. If you're a jewelry maker, perhaps you'd like to send some pics of your workspace too!

Anyway, that's it for this week's Friday Findings.
Have a great day!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
