Halloween II: The Day After
Capitola Girl just thought she'd share some of the beaded costume creations (and snake hair) that she whipped up for her friends this Halloween. To the left is one of Capitola Girl's favorite people, Princess Pocahontas, who is modeling an historically accurate glass, shell and tiger eye necklace. Princess Pocahontas is our neighborhood's #1 Rett Angel, and was diagnosed with Rett's Syndrome when she was a little girl. Rett's Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a defect in the MECP2 gene, often misdiagnosed as autism affecting mostly girls. To learn about how you can help End Rett Now! and raise $10,000 dollars for Rett's research and development please visit: http://www.rettangels.org/
The Lady in Red, below, is modeling a bright red-and-yellow-catch-a-fellow glass necklace with coordinating murano glass pendant. It just so happened that Capitola Girl had the matching murano pendant in her stash. Go figure.
And, Medusa the Gorgon, although not modeling jewelry-per-se, decided to "do" it up with jeweled snake hair made of gold ribbon, red ribbon ornanment hangers, green paper ribbon, and fancy yarn. Needless to say, Medusa was too beautiful (and too nice) to turn anyone into stone last night!
Next, as Mr. Rodgers would heartily sing, "These are the people in my neighborhood." A collection of bunnies, fairies, flappers, riding hoods, and an Indian Chief. It's a snapshot of small town life, which is why we all love Capitola!
And of course, not to be undone is our Jackie O, of Capitola. The self-proclaimed First Lady of Capitola is donning not one, but two sets of matching pearls, accented by the most fabulous bright pink tweed the world did ever see. So...fashion divas look out, the First Lady of Capitola Girl is on her campaign trail now -- just wait until you see what she's got up her pink tweed sleeve for next Halloween!
