Forget About Dudes and Diamonds... Best Friends are the Jewelry of Life
There may come a time when a hard boiled employer
Thinks your awful nice
But get that ice or else no dice
He's your guy when stocks are high
But beware when the start to descend
It's then that those louses go back to their spouses
Diamond's are a girl's best friend
--From "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend"
If you are a frequent site visitor, its probably become apparent that Capitola Girl's been searching for Mr. Right for sometime now, and although the idea of Mr. Right has proven to be somewhat slippery and elusive, she's has had some luck finding and making great friends. Being single isn't as much fun as it used to be. And she still has hope that there are nice guys in the world, but there seem to be a greater number of not so nice ones too. Lucky for Capitola Girl, she has her good friends there to remind her that when a not so nice one drops a lie bomb and follows it up with an inexplicable disappearing act, his actions are a reflection of his character and not hers.
This necklace, was made for one of Capitola Girl's favorite people in the world, who has been a loyal friend in good times and bad. It was inspired by an earlier design (see Cruella de Jasper), and her best friend loved it, but she chose to give it up so that another person (who also loved it) could take it home with her. Generous and unselfish people like Capitola Girl's best friend aren't always the first people you come across in life, which makes Capitola Girl positive that her best friend is a standout. Capitola Girl gives this necklace with some words of love, "Thank you for always thinking of others, and for putting other's needs first. You are so totally loved, and I am grateful that you are part of my life."
This is a multi-strand necklace that features various sizes of dalamation jasper beads, clear crystal seed beads, and smoky glass. As we in the cottages like to say, dudes and dilemmas may come and go, but your best-est girl friends are the most valuable jewelry in life!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
