San Clemente Bracelet

With the devastation being caused by the San Diego Fire this week, Capitola Girl hasn't devoted much time to beading the last two days. Instead, she's been watching the TV and the status of the fire spread in her hometown. As of this morning, more than 645 square miles and 1100 homes have been burned, and "The 5" has been closed both north/southbound at Camp Pendleton. Fortunately, Capitola Girl's family is still safe and have not needed to evacuate. According to Capitola Girls' mom, officials are talking about flying sea planes today, which will pull water from lakes and the ocean as a measure for protecting neighborhoods that have not been affected by the fires just yet.

The San Clemente bracelet is named for a canyon in San Diego where Capitola Girl's dad used to take her for hikes, when she better known by her other nickname -- "Smart and Sassy." LOL. The bracelet features bone, wood, heishe shell and cat's eye beads, and a few small copper dragonfly accents. And, by the way, they look just like the bugs she used to capture in the canyon! Capitola Girl loves ya Mom and Dad!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
