The Road from Capitola to Aptos: A Beading Metamorphosis
Every once in awhile, as Capitola Girl sorts through her bead collection, she'll run across an unexpected combination of colors and textures that inspires her to drop everything that she is doing so she can bead, bead bead!
Similar to butterflies and insects, the beads that live at Capitola Girl's house all go through the creative process of metamorphosis. These small jewels start off as tiny, mismatched beads incubating in their boxes. Then one day, through bead stringing and texture variation, they are abruptly transformed into full grown necklaces. After their birthdate is catalogued and recorded, some of Capitola Girl's necklaces decide they are mature enough to leave home -- just like this necklace and earring set, which now calls the City of Aptos home.
The Metamorphosis necklace and earring set features varigated jasper hexagon beads, and are perfectly complimented by round silver beads, round blue sponge coral, and red African bone beads. Bon Voyage to you Metamorphosis necklace, and enjoy your new home!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
