Meet Some Beaders With A Cause

>> Thursday, October 4, 2007

Every morning, Capitola Girl searches the web for interesting jewelry blogs. Today, she came across a post on the About.com Jewelry Making Site with a link to a blog called A Little Something. Following the link, Capitola Girl was stoked to read about an awesome group of women who are beading with a cause.

A Little Something is run by a group called The Bead Women, who teach language and literacy skills to refugee women in Denver, CO. More recently, they crafted a plan for helping refugee women become self-sufficient through jewelry making! Sooooo cool!

Capitola Girl was so stoked, she just had to tell you about this group. To learn more about their refugee projects and to donate your leftover jewelry supplies to help their cause, visit the A Little Something blog.

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
