Jewelry Inspired By.....Fabric!
This morning, Capitola Girl heard a knock at the door and it was one of her really cool neighbors, with a crafty proposition. After exchanging cheerful hellos, her neighbor mentioned, "I have a friend who owns the same skirt as me, and I want to get her something to match it. Would you be willing to make her a necklace?" She didn't even need a moment to consider -- Capitola Girl never lets opportunities to bead-noticed pass her by.
Grabbing the skirt out of her neigbors hand, Capitola Girl ran to her trusty photocopier, and then sat down in her studio to ponder. She thought to herself, "My challenge is to make something that matches, and its got to be more dainty than chunky. Hmmmm....what to do?" About an hour later, the result of this Capitola Girl's brainstorm was this chunky, yet dainty set.
Both the necklace and earrings are a striking combination of turquoise, red, black, gold and bronze beads of varying shapes and sizes. And, hey there neighbor, Capitola Girl really hopes your friend will treasure her present as much as Capitola Girl loves the fabric of inspiration!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
