Freedom of the Press Necklace

Since magazines are published on regular basis, Capitola Girl finds it coincidental that she's been publishing her recycled paper bead necklaces on a pretty regular schedule. More than a third of the world's population lives without freedom of the press, and Capitola Girl finds unfair and ironic. Especially since the magazine beads in this necklace were made in the only partly-free country of Uganda.

This russet and ochre tone necklace and earring set features carnelian rounds and, once again, recycled paper beads from Bead for Life. The longer Opera length can be worn as a single- or double-strand. The single carnelian focal bead is framed by two orange jasper rounds.

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
