Every Girl has a Story, and so should her Jewelry

One of Capitola Girl's writer friends recently said, "I love vintage pieces or handmade pieces or things that look like they somehow have a history or story to tell." And, this dainty and delicate vintage pearl bracelet and earring set definitely fits that bill.

The set features etched Blue Moon glass beads in purple that are new, and vintage glass pearls from Japan, that came to California by way of Hawaii. It was a special occassion glass pearl necklace from family, and its surived one Tidal Wave and one Earthquake. To qualify as vintage, a bead must be at least 35 years old, and these pretty pearls surpass this bracelet s birthday by way more than a half a century.

These pearls have traveled across the Pacific Ocean, only to sit quietly in a drawer for years. After so much time closed up, Capitola Girl decided to realease these pearls from their shell. She'll be passing a few little vintage pearls in many directions over the several weeks, so that the story and history of a wonderful little Japanese lady's prized pearl necklace may continue.

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
