A bracelet a day keeps the shopping habits at bay

-- Capitola Girl

Before bead-stringing made its debut in Captiola Girl's life, there was... shopping! And, like many women, Capitola Girl loved to shop. (Note from Capitola Girl: If I had a music server for this Web blog, you'd be hearing the angel aahhhhhhh!).

Unfortunately for all of the shopping centers in the fine state of California, once someone acquires the ability to make hundreds of bracelets, earrings, and necklaces a year, it becomes harder to rationalize the need to make special appearances at the mall. Capitola Girl now says "Sorry Mall, but bracelets are my new love." If its any consolation, Capitola Girl will sometimes look back fondly at her visits to the mall.

This bracelet and earring set features orange jasper, jade and silver beads accented by clear crystals and red-orange colored amber chips. Capitola Girl made it as a birthday gift.

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
