The Agape Necklace

It’s time to post another column on this blog, and since the Greeks were fans of posts & columns, Capitola Girl decided to go all spanikopita on you by designing and constructing the Agape Necklace. It features clear crystals, gray glass beads, and white glass pearls on sterling silver-- because sometimes not everything you perceive is black and white. With a little agape and some patience, is possible to appreciate even the grayest of areas.

The word agape implies a connection between two entities in which there is genuine affection and the ultimate desire for goodness. It‘s the concept of loving someone unconditionally and accepting them exactly as they are with your heart wide open, even if acceptance means that things aren't going to turn out the way you want.

Capitola Girl probably won’t have the opportunity to share a beer with her Serendipity Necklace friend anytime soon, but the next time she knocks back a cold one, she will be secretly proposing a toast to him and his happiness. No matter what happens, she hopes he listens to his heart and they someday have another serendiptious meeting, if only to catch up on the latest happenings. For what its worth, Capitola Girl hopes he knows that she thinks he's awesome!

About This Blog

This blog first started as a way to share the inspiration behind jewelry making with family and friends. Next thing you know, my blogging became a hobby--complete with a logo!

In my not-so-virtual-reality, I'm a freelance technical and marketing communications consultant who spends her time doing geeky things in the high-tech industry. But my real fun comes from making jewelry, which you can find in my Etsy shop at: http://capitolagirl.etsy.com
